Designing Bird Study Experiments

November 8, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Citizen science in action

For more than a decade, students have been participating in the Cornell Lab of Ornithology citizen-science projects. They have been asking and answering their own questions about birds by conducting original experiments and analyzing and interpreting their data. By engaging in citizen science, students transform into scientists and make a valuable contribution to the scientific community – all while meeting the NGSS and Common Core Standards.

In this webinar, educators will:

  • Overview the foundations of science experiments.
  • Assess best practices and common mistakes with designing and implementing experiments.
  • Review three common bird study experiments and discuss how to adapt them to your educational setting.

Experiments Registration

While this webinar is free and open to all educators, both formal and informal, the content is targeted to 4-12 grade educators.
