April Webinar: Engineering Design for Birds

April 17, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Nature is full of marvelous and powerful engineers, including birds. Whether it’s weaving an ornate pendulum nest or constructing a maze of mud cavities, birds alter their habitat to survive and reproduce. By becoming engineers themselves, students can also design better habitats for birds. Join us to explore three engineering challenges for students to design structures that provide for three habitat components: food, water, and cover.

In this webinar, educators will:

  • Discover how birds are nature’s engineers.
  • Learn the importance of food, water, and cover for a bird’s survival.
  • Explore three engineering design challenges for students to improve their local habitat for birds.

This webinar is free and open to all educators. The content is targeted to K-12 educators.
