Primary Village South is a public school which serves over 700 preschool- first grade students. We have a culture of being an outdoor school as we have developed a diverse outdoor classroom over the past seven years since the school was first built.
Our children come dressed for the weather at PVS and the the first grade students receive nature classes on a regular basis. Our program is lead by our naturalist in residency.
They observe plants and animals in many different habitats...a meadow, woods, pond area, butterfly garden and bird garden. Our outdoor learning spaces have been developed and maintained through the efforts of our families and staff. Our children "invite" animals to our school by providing healthy habitats...nesting boxes, feeding stations and un-manicured areas just to name a few.
