My students will engage in documenting the local birds of the school garden and them cast their eyes skyward as they navigate the constellations of the night sky including Cygnus the swan and Aquila the eagle.

Skybirds and Stargazers

My students have an agricultural area to the school. Here we maintain and feed the birds of our local area, jays, ravens, woodpeckers, and an occasional hawk. We study them and watch their feeding patterns. Later in the evening, the students study the stars with our astronomy nights. The use of your binoculars will give us a two-fold study program connect the birds of the day with the birds of the night sky. Cygnus, Aquila and others.
