M.E.C.C.A. Trail Revitalization Project

Within recent years the M.E.C.C.A (Mishicot Environmental Change Curriculum) Trail has gotten to be overgrown with weeds and invasive species. With much thought and determination the Mishicot School District has created a 5 year plan to revitalize the trail and use it for educational purposes. With the students help we plan to clear out and widen the trail, increase the amount of birds, butterfly's and flowers, to promote pollination, and create benches and tree I.D. markers for educational uses. So far multiple classes in the Mishicot High School have taken part in clearing all invasive species on the trail such as honey suckle. After the 5 year plan the M.E.C.C.A. Trail will be an important part of the district as well as the community for educational and proactive lifestyle purposes, as well as promoting native animal and bird life.
