6th grade students created an interactive interpretive sign for the school community overlooking our feeder site. Each student was assigned a bird that is common in our area. They created a website which included a short video about their bird. The video consisted of a narrated slide show describing the identifying features of the bird along with other information about it’s natural history. Websites were linked to QR codes that were added to the sign underneath each student illustration. Our vision for the sign was to empower students to raise awareness and educate our school community about the local birdlife. The sign is located next to a native plant garden that was created to attract wildlife to the feeding area.
