Student-scientists are studying and supporting the endangered Golden Cheeked Warbler(s) that spend their mating season in our school Wildlife Preserve, which adjoins the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve.

To study the birds, students have done extensive research on the habitats, diets, and habits of the Golden Cheeked Warbler, familiarized themselves with the bird call, and spent many hours listening and recording data relating to sightings and hearing the Warbler.

With a territory identified, students would like to design and build 2-3 bird-blinds to better study the Warbler for an extended period of time.
