This educational program uses birds as a social and environmental analysis tool and aims, through their observation, to change the student´s perception and attitudes towards the environment in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Short workshops invite children, teenagers and adults to observe our amazing local biodiversity and recognize some local bird species. We have designed educational material to complement the activities, as a Bird Observatory and Coloring book, among others.
In addition to non formal programs, we have been working with primary and secondary schools. Adjustments to the official science curricula and bird observation allow students to analyze social and environmental issues as well as value the importance of conserving our biodiversity in Guadalajara.

    Hola Ivel,
I am so glad to learn of your project. I am an environmental educator and Girl Scout Troop Leader here in Livermore, California. I would like my girls, most of them bilingual, to communicate (in Spanish) with “Bird Pals” in Mexico and/or Central America. I am thinking of the model used in “Amigos Alados”.
I have also referred them to you, in case you did not know about each other.
Please let me know if you would like to start a communication pipeline, starting with ourselves and perhaps expanding to include others. In Spanish or English.
    Gracias! Ann Brown
